Whats up with CAS kits??
#6
Speed Ink is backed up with installing Turbo kits, so my CAS kit won't be installed until mid Feb... I'm doing T60's on a stock motor, heads and cam.. I'm hoping to push 500rwhp.. I'll do before/after dyno runs and plenty of pics of the install.... They said with my current mods and running 8PSI I should be able to hit 500rwhp.

Also the T60's I'll suffer with because that's what's coming with the kit I bought from the seller. He's selling his T44's and giving me the new T60's.. I might as well keep them on there in the mean time.

I sent the turbos off to Limit Engineering to be upgraded to handle 1200hp. Once i get my block (HPE 398) and ported 6.0 heads i should be able to get any mods done to the hot side like: expanding the downpipes to 3" and placing the wastegates on the manifolds(possibly dumping into the exhaust). I sold the Y pipe, intercooler and boost controller. In the coming weeks i am looking to purchase a phamspeed IC. Right now i don't even see the car on the road until summer and that will probably be with the stock 10 bolt. I hope to hit my goal of 1000rwhp by fall and then work on making the car as stable as possible from there.
There are lots of plans and they include: g-force tranny, Mcleod bellhousing(if feasible), Spec clutch, complete front suspension(tubular k member, Upper+lower a arms, sway bar, adjustable coil overs), sumped tank, weldon pump, 96# injectors, boost referenced regulator, stoptech 4 piston front brakes, spohn torque arm, 9" rear with 35 spline axles, complete rear suspension, roll cage, eboost boost controller, true duals over the axle, 2 electric cutouts (removable so i can install cats if necessary), wideband gauge, hptuners 3 bar tuning software + 3 bar map sensor. Right now that is all i could remember off of the top of my head and my notes but i am sure i am forgetting a few things that obviously won't be overlooked when i am putting everything together. Some things will have to wait, like the rear end, until i have enough funds but for now i want to get the car back on the road as soon as possible (looks like summertime right now).

The manifolds were sent out to Jet-Hot for their new Jet-Hot 2000 coating. Then they are being wrapped, and that is all that was done to the manifolds.
There were existing cracks that we repaired, and fixed a few of the welds that looked suspect.
Will be interesting to see what happens.

Providing I can come up with a trailer we are schedluled to do a few initial pulls a week from today. Until I get the FMIC taken care of, we will take it slow power wise. Chris did say there is a good supply of race gas up there, I may take advantage of. Our eight week project should have an awesome ending, thanks to all at AP and Nick for his personal attention. I'm quite sure someone will post results and maybe a video on the dyno next weekend. Angelo

I'll just add that I think modifications should be done to the manifolds to allow for expansion...and perhaps some triangles added as Corky Bell shows in his Max Boost book.
My useless 2 cents, which is probably too late anyway. A freinds TT sbc 304 manifolds are JH2000 coated...and they did flake at the end of the season... but its a hard runner.

I don't want to coat my pipes with jet hot for fear of flaking, getting them redone, or possible damaging the turbos. I am not sure as to exactly how i am going to modify my manifolds but that's a few months away (i have to go to texas for the entire month of march). My turbos should be here on monday so i will post up some pics then. My motor should be finished but i sent my 6 ltre heads off the HPE so they can port them, set me up with some appropriate valves, and also set me up for a killer cam. I just hope i meet my goal of being finished by summer because it looks like i am going to Egypt from august to november possibly.
