I think some of you guys are not reading into the situation fully. With a FMIC and no cutting there will be a wall of metal right behind the FMIC which severely cuts down on airflow. If there is at least a couple inches between the bumper support and the IC then all should work well but if it's right up against it you're gonna have flow problems. Just like the perfect wall and cooling fan analogy that y2khawk put out..... Much better than my curtain analogy LOL

Maybe you could try some of these Derale fans from summit:

http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...4839058+300458

If you put a WOT switch on the TB and then hooked it up to a relay, you wouldnt have to worry about drawing extra amps at idle, theyd only kick on while you were producing boost at WOT.

I dont have a problem Cuttin up the Bumper. I can make the frame for the FMIC and mount it in there fine. There will be pleanty of room behind it and in front. I CANT do body work so thats the part that I am having problems with? I need to try and find someone who can do some custom bumper work I guess. I am not sure how it would look ether? Thats where I am at with it right now? I also Would like to keep the fog lights if I can.

I think everyone is getting confused between the BUMPER and the BUMPER COVER. I am definitly going to cut up the BUMPER, but do not want to cut a big nasty hole in my BUMPER COVER. And so far you all are right with what you are saying. Just need to use the right situation. Thanks

Exactly, I dont have any problem cutting sheet metal that you won't see, I just dont want to hack up my bumper cover. Besides, I haven't realy seen an LT1 Camaro yet that looks very good with the front cut out for a FMIC. The LS1 cars get do and make it look really nice. I also dont want to do the LS1 front end conversion, that is WAY too much work and cash. That's why I was thinking about the fan option.

Why not mount the intercooler downward like the procharger set up or have twins possibly right infront of each tire, there is a guy on here with 800 something rwhp twin turbo LT1 with the intercoolers mounted there i believe.

Ahh I getcha now. I thought you wanted to keep the cover AND the bumper bracing intact. That would leave you no room except the small amount between the IC and the bumper cover. LOL

Ok, I feel better knowing you're not crazy afterall.

If it works for your radiator then it will work for the intercooler. You will need to get the largest surface area and highest flowing fan you can. There are 2 different type fans. Once that pull the air throu, and the once the pushes it through. And no you can not just spin the fan backwards. It will not move the same amount of air.
Also if you intercooler is not in the front in direct air flow you have to get air to some how. Either with a fan, or fan and scoop combo.
And when you are realy on the boost and want to keep the air/air intercooler, add water meth, or spray CO2 across you intercooler.

Hey guys,

There has been a production car that used a fan to help pull air through the intercooler, that car was the Grand National. The fan was directly mounted to the crank pulley and was directly behind the IC, without a shroud from what I can remember. I believe a good front mount setup would be better than the use of a fan. I'm just saying it was done and it works.

You beat me to posting that. I think the shroud was a key for making the GN work. You would have to fab a really good shroud that scooped could air from somewhere, then the fans would help pull it through and even the airflow.

Spal makes a double fan that flows like 2700+ cfm that'd probably work.

yeah but precision turbo & engine did my friends grand national and put a fan on the front mount but like stated you need room for the fan to allow air in for it to work.
