How much boost are the stock rods good for?

How much boost are the stock rods good for? Just curious if I bought a block with stock rods, ARP rod bolts and forged pistons how much power can that hold safely?

Stock rods have yet to fail at a hp level. As long as you change stock bolts to arps, you should be fine. I have always run stock rods with 600-700rwhp. Harlan ran them at 600+ for many miles. Mike Brown ran like 9.89 and 700rwhp with them. Because boost keeps some pressure on the pistons most of the time (boost or exhaust back pressure) rods go a lot further on a boost motor vs a nitrous motor or even N/A.
Yep ill agree..... stock rods will go quite a long way...... just be sure you use a set of ARP rod bolts and a good set of File fit rings and you should be fine....... What compression??

I'd like to run as close to 9:1 as possible and run 12 lbs on pump gas safely. I don't know if that will be feasible with my heads.
Let me ask this if the stock rods are that strong why bother upgrading to forged rods?

Me myself i wouldnt push them far over 650rwhp..... and with after market ones you can go alot farther....... and the BIG ONE in my book......................... Piece of mind .........

my turbo spiked 30+ pounds then lifted the head filled the cylander with water blew the cylander wall out but didnt hurt the rod. if you polish the rod and take out all the casting marks and sharp edges the will hold more power.
