Default Firebird frontmount?

hi guys, ive seen alot of camaros with frontmounts but the bumper on a firebird seems to present quite an airflow problem. is it even possible without hacking up the bumper? has anyone tried(aside from PSJ's griffin setup)? i'd like to use an OBX but it doesnt look like it can be done.

go halfway down the page.
Some people also cut out the area where the plate is.

We do here in Tx. also. People either risk it or they use little suction cups to stick it on the inside of the windshield on the top.

i cut my bumper and live in jersey, just put the plate on the dashboard so it can be seen, most cops won't give you a problem.

i have seen some people mount their plate on the air dam, under the car, its barley visible, but they have said they havent had a problem with that.

note to guys who put it in the window, most state laws specify that you have to have it "permenetly mounted" so just sticking it in the window wont be legal, so if the cop wants to be a jerk he can.

oh screw the front license law, its a small fee. Most of the time youll only get a ticket for is if you get pulled over for speeding or something else.

you can stil mount the plate in that spot, just have to "hang it" cut the bumper out except for the little screw tabs and your good. Go to the track and take you plate off for full flow, or on the street you still have a decent amount of flow around the edges of the plate....

heck if you wanted to get cool on it you could shave abotu 1/4" off the edges of the plate and get more "street" flow

Koncrete, how much of the bumper did you cut out? i see you have a trans am so theres not a whole lot of room with those fog lights being where they are. did you stop just before the fog lights or do away with them completely?
i'd love to see a pic if you have one

Or get/make a custom license plate bracket and mount it offset to one side.

I have seen 2 different cops, from different cities, pull 2 of my friends over for it here in Texas. One was going to write a ticket unless he mounted it, which we did manage to get it mounted. The other friend did get the ticket, went to court and won.

Bottem line is, don't be suprised if they do pull you over and are jerks. I think it's really a case of ***** envy as they KNOW that your f-body is faster then their cop car. Of course the 2 cases come to think about it were both trucks.

the evolution front bumper looks somewhat ok. the only way i would get it was if there was an FMIC that the core took up both cut out pieces on the bumper i don't like how you can see the end tanks.

thats what i was thinking, maybe leave some room on the side to mount the liscence plate.
and 2000Hawk: i agree with you that it looks pretty ugly when not taking up the whole space but maybe you could put a grill piece in front of it to make it look a little more presentable.

I....ehm....err...I...uhh...have a pretty much stock car...

I was just throwing an idea out that I had seen and looked pretty nice.... I forget who had it but he cut just the back part of the license plate area out and left the tabs to screw into.... on the road he left it screwed in and at the track he takes it off... you really dont need much air for around the town or highway driving, but anytime your gonna make a run you can just take it off...
