Default Interesting Valve Train Question For Big Boost

I was thinking, would it be harder for the exhaust lifter on a big boost motor to overcome opening the exhaust valve which is being forced shut not only by the valve spring but the pressure generated by very hot very dense exhaust gases holding the valve shut also. In a n/a motor obviously the exhaust pressure would not be nearly as high as you are burning a much denser charge in a forced induction motor.

Vica Versa, would less stress be put on the intake lifter as you have the boost trying to force the intake valve open in the intake port of the head and intake manifold.

This is probably something very minute to the point of not being even noticed by the valve train but maybe not. Are there any instances of people running less spring pressure on the exhaust side and more on the intake or is this just a non issue.

Just some food for thought.

Anybody, have a guess. I guess this would only be an issue on a hydraulic lifter motor if it all.

The exhaust in the manifold / headers will help to open the valve .... though it's pressue is a lot less than the exhaust pressure still inside of the cylinder. Yes, on a FI engine, this might be a little more pressure than an NA setup, but as long as you have decent enough valve springs, you are OK.

do a search i have worked out the math before. it is significant. you need good springs.. on both sides..and awesome springs if you have severe backpressure.
