I think the V9-G 'SQ's had problems, non-SQ were ok.

They supposedly got the problems fixed. Mine locked up but I had a smaller pulley on it. They sent me a non-sq version no problems since.

The best advice I have for Vortech people is to be careful about hot lapping at the track. Because it uses an water/air aftercooler you have to always cool the water down before running again. I smoked my first motor by going for another pass too quickly and detonating badly at the shift points. I can't imagine what the IAT's must have gotten to when I ran with hot water. Live and learn. This could also happen if you were playing cat & mouse on the street, doing multiple WOT blast. I feel more comfortable now with a FMIC.

Only complaint on the kit is general with most vortech kits, and the IAT sensor is in the wrong place.

Are they doing a custom dyno tune or using the program that comes with the vortech kit?

They have a load-style dyno over there. Those guys are pretty cool. Only tricky part might for them to tap the oil pan but since they are friends with Z8's I'm sure they know all about it.

Question about the Vortech kit since I'm not to familer with it (been looking at FI options latley).

Does it have a seperate heat exchanger mounted somewhere (like the 03/04 Cobra) to disapate heat from the water?

Never done business with Sound Performance, they're probably very talented, but both them and Speed Inc are less than 10 miles from my house, and if I was shelling out the cash for a supercharger, I'd go to Speed Inc and never look back. My guess is Speed has done 10 times the number of FI installs on LS1s as Sound Performance (aren't they primarily a stereo/supra turbo/dsm kind of outfit. I don't know. Best of luck, the car should haul

ya that is their specialty if you want to call it that. my buddy worked there for 2 years and said they know what to do with just about everything. he told me to take it there b/c he trusts them a lot and they taught him a bunch. so i figured why not. i was goin to speed inc or sound performance. i just chose them b/c of my buddy. im sure they are fairly equal on quality of work. i have a lot of family in the chicago area so ill post pics when everything is done and maybe some of you guys wil see me out there.

thanks
