I've broken a timing chain before and think you'd just crunch all of your valves. Happens fast.

Debated with mech and think you may have just had a bent valve that allowed a backfire on a rear cylinder. Cam overlap is something to consider, but unlikely. What were the cam specs?

How do your valves look on Cyl 7/8?
Does the bottom end rotate?

Previous over-rev -> bent valve -> future intake backfire?
Any update on this?

I have broken timing chains on LT1's prior to the meziere electric waterpumps coming out, and since then double roller billet sets are all I use. both occassions when i broke the timing sets, I bent around 7-8 valves, notched the pistons, and broke rings and or ring lands. with some luck, this did not happen to your motor. if so.. new valves, better springs, and a billet double roller timing set with grade 8 hardened bolts torque properly, a valve job new gaskets, and an intake and your back on the road.. if you damaged the cylinder walls during P2V interference, a bore, pistons, rings, bearings and all of the above and your back on the road.. expensive.. if the latter is the case it sounds to me like an opportunity to drop the compression and up the boost for some better power and a stronger base to run boost on. I wish for the best for you though! but if its the worst that could have happened.. run with it.. it'll make ya happy in the long run and you will get more out of your charger!

I've heard of more than 1 case of Procharger gear harmonics loosening the cam bolts and just about every other bolt on the motor.

Anyone want to comment on Prochargers rattling cam bolts loose? I know it sounds far fetched, but this is the 2nd or 3rd Procharged car I've heard of this on.

Was it a stock cam?
If an aftermarket cam was installed, did you use new cam bolts? Loc-tite?
