Default SHift points & Rev Limiter settings with FI? Questions

OK hear is the deal. I know that with the turbo the car will tack up a LOT faster. I have added a bit to my rev limiter BUT I still am hitting the rev limiter everytime I try to run it. Its gotten better BUT still not right? My Question is this - How much higher is your rev limiter set after your shift points? If you shift at 6200 RPM's where is your Rev limiter set at? I am looking to get some feedback from several folks so please let me know what yours is at. I just want to see what others are having to run there at. Thnaks for the help folks, Lata, Ark

This depends on the driver, keep bumping your shift light down till you quit hitting the rev limiter and go from there.

If you get wheelspin, you can instantly hit the rev limiter. Ideally the rev limiter should be set at a point where you are not (a) making more power and (b) at an rpm beyond which you consider unsafe for your engine combo.

My rev limiter is set at 7200, I probably could make more power but I am unsure of the limits of the stock oiling system.

Depends on how loose your converter is. I keep about a 300rpm buffer, and that's just with a 3000rpm stall.

The more power you make, the easier it is to run over. Because there is a mph table for the shift too. Both have to be met for a shift to happen.

Just because you are at the rpms in the table, unless you are also at the mph, the pcm won't shift yet.

Boostaholic - I dont have a SHift Lite - I let the Trany do it!

Pro Stock John - Ya figured it ouwl take some tunning and some trial and eror?

John_D. - I got a 2800 vigilantee and I got like 500 rpm difference and I am still hitting the rev limiter.
