Went out for a ride the other day and got on it a little bit, just a couple quick hits. I seen about 10 lbs and jumped off very quickly. When I get home I had to do a little burn out in the garage, just to hear the echo
I went back out yesterday and took it for a quick ride, thing is shaking pretty bad and you deffinately feel it with little load. Anybody want to guess what happened, I figure I smoked a piston already because I still didn't have a tune and she probably went a little lean. I figure it's time to save for the better heads and bottom end now but does this sound familiar to anyone???

10 psi intercooled on a 67 tubo required me to pull the timing a peak tq to 11 degrees, stock it's around 24-26 degrees. You definately were detonating the **** out of it. I really hope for your sake it's only a plug gap issue. The tune is so important to the life of the motor.

It's official, I broke a ring land or cracked #4 piston. I done a compression check on her last night and all cylinders had above 160lbs except #4, it only had about 50'ish. I will now be installing Forged rods and pistons along with LS6 heads and intake. May be a long while though cause I don't have any cash for it right now.

It sucks that you killed it, but it was your own fault. There is no reason that a stock ls1 can't make 500-600 rwhp for 15-20k miles and be reliable. The stock setup is very strong.
I don't understand why people get so antsy to go blow up their cars. Almost everyone I know who adds nitrous or boost blows up their car within a few hours to a few weeks. Power is a drug.
Hope you can get it rebuilt soon and doesn't cost too much. Don't boost til you tune it.
