Default Airpump to remove Crank case pressure under boost?

Well I hope I don’t get slammed to bad for asking this BUT hear goes.

I have Bin trying to fine tune my Car But I am getting a lot of pressure in the crankcase when I boost the car. I know I am getting a lot because it’s spraying out oil from anywhere that is not sealed up GOOD (Dip Stick & one of MY valve covers). NOW I can snug the valve cover BUT I am still gona have pressure in there when it’s Under Boost. I have a custom PCV set up that does not seem to be up to the task I guess? The sort version is that Under boost the Pressure from the crank case is intended to go out the exhaust threw a 3/4" hose and check valve.

SO this was what I just came up with? No Idea if it will work but tell me what ya think? Could I get some sort of Air Pump that would help remove the excess pressure from the crankcase when it’s under boost? I was hoping I could rig it up to come on when the boost came on? It could suck excess pressure out of the crankcase and push it out threw the exhaust.

SO what do you think? IS it possible? Would it work? Any Idea where I could get the Air pump? Any helpful thoughts on this matter would be appreciated!

Thanks, Lata, Ark

This is usually done with a vacc pump or dry sump oil pump, dry sumps being the most expensive will elivate crank case pressure long as you have enough scavage stages going to the oil pan.

I know a lot of people have no PCV and run breathers / catch can setups with little or no problem

A buddy of mine actually used the stock lt1 air pump to do exactly what you are wanting to do on his capri(347, na, ran 10.60's). I don't know how he did it, but I plan on talking with him about it soon.

Boostaholic - MY current PCV set up is a variation of what I have seen guys do hear BUT I dont have a catch can (It just goes out the tailpipe)? Rick from STS gave me the plans/idea for my current set up and I just added to is a Bit.
Where is a Good place to see an example of a vacc pump or dry sump oil pump set up?

618HAWK - Please JUMP in! I have a sts set up and I am running 8lbs of boost right now. Once I get a few of the bugs worked out I plan do do 14 or so on High boost With Meth and a FMIC.

skinnies - If you find anyhting out that you think might help please pass it along!

BTW - I have a LT1 not a LS1, just so you know.
Thanks, Lata, Ark

i tried hooking up the evac pump to rid of the crankcase pressure, didnt work to well.
i switched to breathers and that helped the best of all the stuff i tried.
so unless your going to a dry sump with a vacuum pump, id just do breathers, with a catchcan

i removed my EGR so i used that pump.
i riged it up to turn on when the car started.
the dip stick continued to blow out and oil was pushed throught the PVC system.
after getting rid of the PVC system and putting breathers on my car the crank case pressure problem seemed to be solved, though my rings were already bad at this point, where i had to replace them because of my increased oil consumption.

I was At the track last Thursday and a Guy Had Camarro with a 383 Dart Block With a Vorteq X trim blower on it he had what looked like a a BOV/wastegate welded to his valvecover, i assumed it was to releave some of the Crank Case Presure. Would that work or am i totally wrong

breathers are the easiest and for sure way to go...why keep screwing around with the PCV?

I don't even have breathers, just vented...

Hear is Question.
If its pushing oil out past the vent tube thats going into my exaust & dip stick than what would make you think it would not push oil out past the breather>?????????????

Breathers are a quick cheaper way to address crankcase pressure. You can always implement a evac solution later.

sounds to me like your problem is not your pcv system, sounds like you have a broken ringland. you crankcase shouldn't pressurizing that much. Do a compression check.
