Default sts system question?

I have a 98 ss with a cutout and the muffler cut off? All it has is lid, pulley, cutout. Would I have to get a catback or put the stock catback on for the sts system to work or could I use the sytem with the cutout and the muffler cut off?

Before I did my kit, I was running with the muffler cut off. You need to cut the muffler off to put the turbo on anyway. I'd get rid of the cutout. It's bound to leak and cause slower spooling.

I agree with Silver02Z28.
Where is the muffler cut off at? If its infront of the axle you will need to get a new tail pipe that goes over the axle. You can get them from Napa for about $60. It will make the install much easier for you or the Dealer.

Its always alot easier to install with the stock exhaust. If you can just get a stock "I" pipe then you are set.

I still have the i-pipe and everything. I just have the muffler chopped off right where it starts. Also, I guess I cant have the cutout open with a turbo? Let me know

The cutout will not hold boost. If you cut the "I" pipe as close to the muffler body, then that is right where we cut it. You should be set.
