Nope...can't believe my ******* luck with weather this time around. I started working on the car when it starts to sprinkle then turns to a freakin down pour. Its been raining ever since. If I get all figured out with the oil drain line tomorrow then I might be able to start her up tomorrow, but with the turbo blowing to the ground...as I'm waiting on some silicone to finish off the IC pipes...

We spent our time looking for a non existant 1/2in NPT to 5/8 barbed 90 deg elbow...so I can route the oil drain line straight to the damn pan. Looks like I'll have to order something similar in the form of an -AN fitting. 1/2NPT to -10AN and run twist lock hose or stainless steel braided line to the pan.

I'm getting tired of these hold ups with the weather and the small set backs that seem to hit me every step of the way installing this turbo kit....just got to keep trucking.

I'll get it figured out tomorrow hopefully, I'm pissed now

Might try these guys http://www.mcmaster.com/. If it comes down to it my Vortech S/C kit came with one that would work for you so you might give them a ring if you can't find what your looking for.

No problem I'm keeping a close eye on your progress as I am going to switch to a turbo setup in the near future etc... Glad to have helped.

Was making good progress, it dumped on us right when I took off the plate that you have to tap for the pressurized oil line. Had to scramble to get it back on so water didn't get anywhere its not suppose to be....whats up with this wet weather here in the land of no rain, snow cold???? It was a good down burst. We are waiting for things to dry up so we can go back out there.
Time comsuming task for the day was welding beads to the ends of the IC piping so it doesn't pop off, cleaning up the spatter and cleaning out the pipes.

Alternator bracket is in limbo right now, John said he'd send me one, but I wanted to buy it and asked for an address so I could send the money to(lost the one I had) But I haven't got an address or bracket....it might be in the mail? I'll PM him on it again.

Here's whats done now, IC piping to the driver side as mentioned above, New denso O2 sensors in place, wheel wells back in place....waiting for the silicone and t bolts to get here now.

We hope to get more done today...
J

Ic piping looks real good so far. If only the weather would throw you a freaking bone you could get this install done.

Ed, can do...but it'll cost you

Stevie, don't know....This is the only 4.0 to 3.5 elbow that I could find. It's from ATP turbo and listed as high temp rubber....a few have these here on the board and seem to be working fine on their cars. I asked HTS to make a 4-3.5 but Jim@HTS felt the market is too small for em. I tried though.

Whats the biggest elbow HTS makes? Say they make a 4" one you always could use that and for the 3.5" part you can cut a small piece of 3.5" coupling put it on the pipe then put the 4" over it clamp it down. i use to do this trick when I make fmic kit's. It might be hard to picture what I am tring say but it acts as a reducer kinda.

A million dollars

Don't really know...the FMIC placement would be a major factor though...as I can't make the pipes without knowing where the FMIC is going to sit......its easy but tough at the same time if the car isn't here...you know what I mean?

I know what you are saying but I wanted it all to fit in that space, and I'm sure I could have gotten your way to work, but this way was good enough for me.

Your way 4.0 to 4.0 elbow small section of 4.0 pipe, 4.0 to 3.5 reducer, MAF sensor to another 3.5-3.0 reducer to IC piping....

No that's not what I am saying. The setup would look the same as you have now no 4" pipe. Just a 4" elbow with a 3.5" coupling(maybe1-1.5" wide) put inside the 4" elbow end that hook's up the maf.

Sorry, that's the way I was going to do it if I was going to use the 4.0 to 4.0 90 from HTS.

I can see what you are saying now...sounds like that might work, but it also sounds like it'll pop out since you are clamping silicone to silicone..right? Do I have the right idea now?
