Nice setup, but i would go with Callies Rods(Lighter and as strong if not stronger) instead of Eagle. What blower are u trying to run on this engine?

This is their website http://www.callies.com/catalog/rods.html
I think APE, LPE and Agastino uses these rods in their forged engines too. Good luck.

Callies Compstar rods come with ARP 2000 rod bolts whereas the eagles come with the 8740 regular bolts. They are around the same price, so use the Compstars!

I am using Eagle rods also... w/ ARP L-19 rod bolts. Should be enough just like John stated above. Talk to APE about the coating also..... Coat the Skirts and Tops.... had mine done.

Anyone want to comment on higher cylinder temps with coatings for FI since the piston doesn't absorb the heat (oil cooled from bottom).

Good question. Is anybody machining the LSx blocks for piston "oil squirters?" Or just letting the windage take care of that problem?

So MM you saying that the rings them selves wont last that long... ie 5000 miles like yours on high HP alone or in a aluminum block??? You see Iron as the same or is that why you switched??

I might have to rethink some things, I dont like the idea of pulling the motor apart after 5k miles

worring about pulling the motor for rings and bearings and asking for 900HP+ is lame IMO.

I see so many ask for big power numbers yet they are unwilling to take on the responsibility and maintenance that goes along with it.

power doesn't come cheap folks

How long should rings last with that kind of power on a street car?
