Default Phamspeed vs. ProTurboSytems!!!!!

Everyone usually ask s/c or turbo...I was going to go the s/c route with a FMIC, then I started reading, now I wanna go turbo!!!! These two kits seem to be the most popular and are about the same price so...why not start a thread to see which everyone thinks is better for quality and performance on the street on stock internals...everyone include pics and tell your stories about the kit from start to finish....if this thread hits it off it might just finally make up my mind on what all to get!!!! Also, lets throw in some info about the phamspeed twin turbo kit too, from what all Ive seen the kit looks like its going to rock!!!!! Lets make this thread full of info for the FI newbies, such as myself...... Thanks guys!!!!

Well our LT1 system has made 987rwhp/922rwtq with a 76GTS. And with a T88 and a downpipe mocked from my car, the same car made 1012rwhp/909rwtq.

At a lower boost setting the car went 10.13@150.29. Story is here

We do not have any LS1 #'s yet, but they should be around the same or better.

On a bone stock LT1 we have some decent results, and one of them was posted by our customer on our board againist his buddy with a rear system....

I have no problems with Phamspeed they are good guys and seem to be building good systems as well. We welcome a good challenge from another front mount turbo kit manufacture.

Well to me they seem pretty close designs and probaly will work just about that same depending on turbo's. Put it this way you can't go wrong with either BUT PTK is a complete kit everything you need. Phamspeed is more a tuner kit. If you do the fab work need for the Phamspeed kit you can save around 1000 but if you have someone do it for you then they might come out to the same price. I know phamspeed is all Stainless I think ptk is mild that is coated but not to sure on that.

Both kit's are really new and no one really has any numbers for either yet. But like I said I think they will both put up good numbers.

Yes we offer them as complete kits, but you can also order them as tuner kits as well in the same config. as the Phamspeed system. Also we offer the systems in 304 and even 321, but for a street car we recommend mild steel with coating. It lasts a long time and won't crack like 304 with time. Now 321 is awesome, but it starts to get more $$$$. But we will build it like you want it.

All else being equal I'd go with the PTK kit just because nothing has to go under the K member and I've been know to like to drive like a idiot over rough ****, like freeway embankments.

How long would you expect it to last on a street vehicle without any problems.

You know, I'd prefer whichever company could put a full system in my hands in three weeks time.

I have a lack of confidence in their ability to take what they're actively selling and deliver it in a timely fashion.

Before everyone flames me, I do understand that these are brand new kits, and that it takes alot of expertise, time, and effort to produce them. I am in no way doubting that either kit performs very, very well. Hats off to both companies.

But I have yet to hear back from an email info request six days ago to Phamspeed... and my installer/tuner just talked to PTK, who said that it would be 2-3 months to deliver their kit. I'm not going to wait that long... but I'm sure that patience will pay off for those of you who are willing to wait.
I think many of us are a little frustrated with "pay now, get your parts whenever" shipping policies.

But hey: if either Phamspeed or PTK would like to prove me wrong, I've got the cash right here and now to purchase! We'll do the deal... as long as delivery is guaranteed to be reasonably soon.

Again, no disrespect to either builder, and good luck to both.

If you recieve as much email as I do, you'd forget to answer a few yourself

Best way to get a hold of us is by calling. A 5min phone conversation is equal to a couple weeks of emailing.

BTW, our kits usually ship within two weeks. We do have some rare situations where we do have kits in stock

We've never had any problems with each other. Our companies have two different setups and I think that's the main reason why. You guys have been around ever since I've been into turbocharging. We know where you guys stand and respect you for that

so neither company has dyno figures or track times for either kit and yet they are the most popular systems?

David we have already laid down good #'s with the LT1 system. The LS1 system should be no exception. If anything it should make more thanks to the LS1's power potential.

IF the TTI race kit was cheaper I would be all over it, but PTK has a slight advantage there right? Unless my figures are off.

Im just happy to see some more quality kits hitting the market for the F-bod.

Good luck to all of you. And keep up the good work.
