Default Where to find a good Heat Exchanger manufacturer?

I'm looking to upgrade the H/E on my Radix, the one I have is really small. Who manufacturers good aftermarket units?

Hmm, don't know....I am pretty ignorant when it comes to these matters. My present H/E is a fully enclosed unit, there is no plumbing sticking out of the sides like the ones you show.

There are two types of heat exchangers, the tube and fin type shown above, and the stacked plate, which is the one that comes with the Radix kit. I'm not sure which one is more efficient, but those are the types I ran into when looking for a trans cooler.

Wow, my knowledge has already doubled! Very cool.

I saw some when I was at Earl's/Holley, but they were about the same size as the Radix H/E. They were the stacked plate type.

I am going with a radiator style one, not the one shown with copper tubing. There is probaly a good reason that all OEM head exchangers are similar to radiators.

However, the fan probaly helps a lot on the one pictured.

The one with the large copper tube isnt as efficient as a radiator tube for a couple of reasons. The larger diameter of the tube prevents the unit from having more passages. Also the larger tube will have a larger amount of water to cool in a given time before the water is out of the heat exchanger. If the GPM's were slowed down to correct this then the intercooler perfomance would suffer. The smaller the tubes the more you can put in a given space the better the heat rejection will be.

It should fare well in fact it is complete just saw it last night. Also one of your cores was damaged so instead of having them repair it i made a call to have it done over. Sorry if this put you call me or email me if you want me to go into detail on this. I may try and call you here shortly on the new line of fans we spoke of.

Am I missing something? Does someone have a line on a good cooler? It sounds like it, but I haven't seen any links, or received any PM's.

Let me know the size you need and we can tweek it to get it to handle the power you are pushing. Tom at speed inc may have something on the shelf for you right now. If not let me know and we will quote it for you. We have a custom template online that you could use to fill out and fax or email me.
