Default quick question please read

Hey guys got a quick question??

My block is at the shop right now, and i have to go see the guy with my final decison in 2 hrs.

How much hp can i make on 93 octane fuel ??

I want 700 hp out of a blown 383 lt1 (turbo )

He says it cant be down on 93. I say it can
Am i wrong.

on a side note, and some of you may find this funny.
he did a cc check on the heads and cr check and he found
that my cr last year was 12.5-1 lol and i was running 12lbs of boost on it
this was on 93 octane. he says it was impossible. i say no. i just ran her a tade rich.

please chim in boys....

700 crank hp with a turbo + intercooling + 93 pump gas + 9:1 compression is possible. For my car that would be like 550-575rwhp.

so you agree that it can be done.
You recomend going to a 9.1 cr

I want to be able to set this up so i can drive it on the streets and be fast
but then add some race fuel and be killer.

So my plan is this cr at 10.0
turbo that can make lots of boost
set it low for daily driving
crank it up when i have race fuel ??

Sure, it is possible. I would be leery to try it on the 12.5:1 if this is really the CR but with careful tuning and good internals you will definitely have fun trying!

keep it 9:1 , better to be safe than sorry. You can still detonate and blow a motor with forged internals. I think its better to have a et goal in mind rather than a dyno number, you can't race dyno's last I checked.

I vote 8.75:1 compression.

If you want to do 10:1 cuz you already have the pistons, then do what you have to do.

Build an FI engine not a NA engine.

ok i have decided im going with the 383 with 10.0 cr.
and lost of boost. Ill just make sure i have a good boost controler so i can just keep slowly turrning her up
I have no doubt that i can make 10-14lbs of boost on this motor without it blowing up. (INTERCOOLED OF COUSRE )

Hell i was running around12-13lbs of boost on an even higher cr and STOCK INTERNALS.

eventhough the guy at the shop said the crank was pushing the main caps and starting to wear bad.

I see your point, i do not have the pistons yet.

my last problem is i dont have 6k to come up with a huge turbo set up

so i need to get the most out of the motor possible and
then im going with a cheep rear mount turbo set up.
