blowby?
blowby? I know you guys are tired of these but we just built a motor for a buddy of mine .007 over with JE pistons, eagle rods, stock crank and heads, gt2-3 cam, vortech 7lbs, now the problem is it has alot of blowby, we put a catchcan on and the motor runs fine and dont loose oil but he took the car buy the guy that built the motor and he says the rings never seated becouse of to much cylinder pressure and to just POP IT OUT like it is that easy, and he will change the rings to something else do you think this could of really happened any help will be nice
what kind of pcv system you have? i had the same problem when i first build my motor. I caped the pcv off, and only had one breather on left side of the valve cover, car smoked blue after a while and leaked oil between the head and the block on the right side only. I got the EVAC system from JEggs its like 30 bucks goes into both valve covers. After about 50 miles and a few days of start ups the rings finally set in place and the car dosent leak or smoke anymore.
I've seen some FI LS1 motors be built very loose, and they ran smoky.

i dont know what rings he used or anything but I know it is built alittle loose. I just put the motor in but I got to thinking about it after I posted this but the motor builder told him to use 1gt of lucas and 30 wt oil and I think this is when it started all of this becouse it makes things to slick and thus rings wont seat so I told him to drain it all back out and try that ? do you think it will hurt it having the blowby until they seat becouse he keeps asking me and I dont know. thanks for you guys help

Verdad Gallardo thats kinda what I think I think he used a molly ring or something but he knew it was going to be a FI motor becouse the owner is wanting #12 lbs and some no2 or methonal thanks again
