Default More updates on the project

Last week we started getting the new rear end in the car. We decided to order different axles from Moser, so we are stuck here at the moment.

I didn't have to go to work on Friday, so I decided to pull the heads off the car so I could change the lifters. When Brian got home, he suggested that we paint the engine bay since I had the motor torn apart. We started on part of that today. I will get better pictures once we are finished.

While Brian and I were sanding and prepping the engine bay for paint, Dale mounted the boost controller.

I think the controller was just the right size for that space. I was very pleased.

31 spline axles. We sent them back to have the reluctor rings put on for the TC and ABS.

I love how that boost controller worked out, couldn't have hoped for a better fit, I may try to stuff one there seeing as how I have not actually purchased a boost controller yet.

What brand of housing and carrier did you go with? I am a ways away from getting a rear but i want a 9". What type of paint are you using for your engine bay? My motor and trans are still out so i think it would be a great time for me to freshen up the paint from the previous owner installing long tubes. Would i need to do anything special for the prep work? Lastly, you need to vacuum your floor.

Greg
The rear end is a Moser 9 inch. I picked up an old center section with 3.50 gears out of a Bronco and cleaned it up. We used Dupli-color automotive spray paint with Dupli-color engine clear coat. You do have to sand it down and clean it up real good with a degreaser before applying the paint. Otherwise, it won't stick. The floor board doesn't have anything on the outside of the car. Once the car is actually moving again, I'll wash it. However, that is my last concern at this point

Nah, that is a big ole leaf you are looking at. I don't allow anyone to eat or drink anything in my car.

As long as my ricer goes fast... I don't really mind

sb427f-car - you should be able to relocate the traction control. If you have an aftermarket radio, you should be able to put the button below it. Otherwise, Brian said something about buying the LT1 knee bolster. Not sure if that would fit, but it has a space that they used for the rear window defroster switch. Someone could give it a try and see if that works.
