Default help, i have a 408 with t76, what mod next?

i am running a forged everything 408 with a good sized turbo cam and stock 6.0 heads. t76 at ~16psi and an air to water intercooler. my IAT's at the track yesterday were 190deg on a 50deg day. my mph and weight sugest 700+rwhp and that is with a 4l80 and 4wd. my boost controler is turned nearly all the way up. the boost might get to 17psi and that is it. my spring only presure is 10psi so i should be able to turn it up more.

20% driveline loss and my fuel useage sugests around 900fwhp.

any mod i want to do next is prety expensive and i was wondering where my money would be best spent.

huge intercooler?
afr225 heads?
bigger turbo?(t88 or larger )

i am going to try some meth next week if that effects the decsion at all.

Bigger turbo or atleast a 1.14/1.34 A/R housing on that T76. The T4 hotside is choking your big motor.

those IAT are to high going to a bigger turbo wont help to much if your already out of range for your intercooler

Huger intercooler is gonna be needed in order to use the other mods you're looking at effectively.

i think some of the high IAT's may be due to my turbo being out of it's range.

look at this map on the 76 and line up 90lb's and 2.1bar.... not so good, about 50%

now look at the 88 map, 90lb's an 2.1 bar... oh yeah, 78%

at 16psi that is about 80deg hoter air going into the intercooler with the 76 than i would see with the 88. it also computes to be about 5lb's more air at the same presure and then would have another 200+hp of head room for me to grow.

Ding-Ding-Ding! Exactly why I recommended you go to a bigger turbo or less cubes before you dove into the motor

You need a T-88 and a set of AFR 225's :-)

Your Turbo is definitely undersized for your needs and also the intercooler is cooking.
16lbs with the right intercooler/Turbo should put you at 800-900rwhp on that 408

The meth will help a ton but with summer coming you'll be back to square one. You really don't have room for an adequate air to air so I'd go with a big *** after cooler/ water to air. More volume with that small after cooler is only going to make matters worse. I personally would take care of that first and continue using the meth also. If you have any questions or want one built just drop me a e-mail.

I wondered if you still had those stock heads on there. Lots of power to be had in those heads!...Hmmm, You cant really do just one of the three choices, kinda all tied together. Save up for a little while & do all three.

1000rwhp or so, maybe 9's but i am not in a big hurry, may take me a couple of years to get there. right now i am trying to decide what to do next but it will probably be the only expensive project i get to do this year so i want it to now be wasted.

btw, great looking run and vids. have you thought about making the truck more drag oriented? aka 4 link and big slick RWD? i doubt it since youhave said you enjoy the street time in that truck.

very impressed.
