Default Dropped Valve on 6.0 Radix

I dropped a valve in my truck today. Motors locked up tight .
So heres the question. What should I rebuild the motor to? I drive this truck 50,000 miles a year so it has to be reliable and I want to keep the Radix. Thanks for any input

Well you really don't know how bad the drop is until you pull the head and look, and why is this thread in the forced induction section?

Its in here because the motor is supercharged and I thought people in here would have more knowledge about building a motor for boost. I dont care how bad it is this just gives me an excuse to make it better

Reuse your block and crank (assuming the cylinder wasn't damaged beyond repair) and throw in a set of eagle rods and some JE,Diamond,Mahle, or Wiseco pistons and slap her back together and you will have a bullet proof bottom end for what you need. Shouldn't cost but maybe $1500 between parts and machining if you do it all yourself, just lots of labor. Good luck!

just do a foreged bottom end, maybe with lower compression so you can add more boost on top without having to run higher octane.

Just got in from the shop. I pulled the valve cover on the right hand bank #7 ex. valve spring BROKE. Lingenfelter cam and springs with 15,000 miles. Pulled the head off and all I could see was connecting rod. I think that the head can be saved but I will have it checked out. Pulled the motor and the biggest piece is probably 2" across.

Wondering about making it a 383 any thoughts on that?

Don

I take it you had single springs?

I agree with this
Eagle Rods, Wiseco pistons
And get a set of head studs while you're at it, they are about $240. Your total should come to $1600-$1800 if you're doing all the labor yourself, including a head gasket.

Good luck with it

Oh and I guess I forgot you will need some better valve springs and to fix whatever is wrong with your head.

as far as a 383 it's up to you if you want to spend the money. It would cost you another 800 just for the crank and then the machining required. Your stock crank will hold the power.
