thoughts on this cam for a TT 427 sbc please
i'm kinda new to the forced induction game, very new actually. i have a 427 sbc built by a big name engine builder responsible for some extremely fast cars, including at least one 6 sec. mustang and i have great respect for their abilities. the setup is pretty much layed out below in my sig. but if further info is needed, let me know and i'll provide what info i can. i was just wondering about this because i asked for a cam and spring setup that would allow me to run the same springs for a whole season and not have to replace them twice a year or reset the valve lash constantly. the cam seems pretty big, however, as i said i'm new to FI and i've never had a motor even close to the caliber this one is.
so, here's what they got for me......
Solid roller
114* LSA with no advance
I 248*/E 254* @ .050"
I .654"/E .660" lift using 1.70 rockers
(I .577"/ E .583" lift using 1.50 rockers)
any good knowledgable opinions are greatly appreciated. i do trust my engine builders choice, but i am just looking for unbiased thoughts.
thanks,
Dave

Jeff after extensive conversations with Graham about what my goals with the car were. Jeff is the only one i would have gone to for this decision, but i think you and Jim aka INTMD8 is right considering the cubes. thanks for the input guys. Jim, knowing your accomplishments, i greatly respect your advice and oppions.
thanks,
Dave

doesn't everyone on here ask for others oppinions after they've bought something from any other reputable shop? seems like it to me anyway. seems a lot of guys just want reassurance for one thing or another and that's kind of what i was after. i'm very big on the whole buyers remorse thing. happens to me a lot. thanks for your input though and hopefully if they do see this, they realize where i was going with it. i've never spoken with Jeff personally, but Graham is a good guy to talk to and i've heard a million great things about Jeff.
