? about an sts on an '04 GTO I just put an sts with the gt67 on my gto, and I'm having trouble tracking down leaks. Obviously, the exhaust pipe connection that they give a clamp for leaked, so I welded that. Unfortunately, I still only get 3 to 3.5 #'s of boost max, so I must still have other leaks. I rechecked the wastegate and blow-off valves, and they appear ok. I just don't know if I should be looking for intake or exhaust leaks. Also, I haven't installed the variable boost controller yet, so that isn't the problem. I barely see 2 #'s of boost until about 4000 rpm, but I did manage to almost hit 4 #'s at 6500rpm a couple of times. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Everytime I encountered a problem with ic pipes on my DSM I would jsut get a spray bottle with soapy water in it and spray every joint. I would end up finding TONS of leaks. To pressurize the system I got a 3" screw on pvc pipe end, the kind that has the square head on it, and then get a 3" rubber connecter to connect the pvc piece to the turbo inlet, where the intake pipe goes for the air filter. Then get a rubber tire inflating nipple, the knid on every wheel of every car, and drill a hole in the end of the pvc piece so that you can put the inflator into it and it should stay in. Then just inflate the system. As long as you havent drilled a hole into your TB plate you should have a pressureized system. GL mate.
