Default Another running turbo LS1 for the books!

That's right, I got my car running tonight . A couple bracing issues to be fixed tomorrow for the turbo to keep the thing from bouncing around, and then the final tune done by Slowhawk, and I'll have a monster on my hands! It's a custom T76 turbo kit done by me and a couple helpers, along with some stock 6L truck heads, a small reverse split cam, stock manifolds, intake, bottom end, tranny, rear end, and computer. Fuel mods of course. Sorry I can't give more detail I'm just far too excited right now to type it all out!

Just wanted to say thanks to all those here on the board who have helped me out tech wise and by selling me parts. Without this board I never would have even conceived this project or had the technical know-how to undertake it. THANKS AGAIN!!!

I'm really happy for you bro, thats great news.
Make sure you get everything 100% dialed in before you beat on it too hard.
Slowhawk def knows what he is doing, it should be a rock when you get it back.

Congrats!

thats definately good to hear. any idea what it should be dynoing? you gonna use it as a pump gas setup, or race fuel/meth? it should make some killer power.

Everyone, I will try to get some pics up and then some video in the next day or so, I was out all day today basically shaking the car down and it has come together really well. Car holds steady at 7-8 psi and hits it at about 3250 RPM, so I'm very happy with that. Under full boost the car pulls like a mother, and this is on the "just to get me running" tune that Slowhawk gave me. I keep blowing charge pipe couplers off, however . But I guess that just comes with the territory... I ran a friend's 2005 Yamaha R6 from about 55-100 and only lost by about 3 cars, so it should be fun once properly tuned and all the little things are taken care of.

to help with the couplers, run a bead around the ends of the pipes, you can buy a bead roller, or I weld them its easier and I already own a welder dont need a bead roller.

tighten the worm clamps with a ratchet instead a screw driver, or if you want to get spendy use T-bolt clamps.

Haha. Already racing. I have a feeling it's a bit hard to resist getting on it even without a tune. I think I'll need to wire some sort of shock collar to keep me from going WOT before I get mine tuned....when I actually get a setup. Congrats on your completion.

with a mint tune in there you should smoke that bike. I was running 9psiwith that turbo and a completely stock motor and pulled a piped 04 Yamaha R6 pretty hard. theres a vid on this site i posted a while ago.

Yeah, the tune that I have right now is ultra rich apparently, so there isn't as much power as I could be making by a long shot. Slowhawk said I would be safe boosting it to 12 psi based on the tune he gave me for now if I wanted but I think I'll stick with the 7-8 until it's tuned.

As far as pulling the R6... I'm not too sure that's gonna happen any time soon. I've heard they are 10 sec @ 135+ bikes...

Just picture your wallet is the shock collar and its wired to a new long block because you melted the pistons in the first block.

The new R6's are about a 125-128 mph trap speed bikes. They can go 10's depending on the rider. I walked one pretty good with your same setup so i don't think you'll have a problem. With a nice tune. The new R1 is more like the 135+ trap speed bike.

Here are some pics to hold you over for now. I've been too busy out driving it and fixing the little things that keep popping up lately to post regularly on here so sorry I haven't been speedier with them.
