i run tr6's at the gap they came at.. stock coils and stock plug wires.

if you have aftermarket plug wires on then change them back.

David I have heard that before about using stock plug wires, but I haven't had anyone confirm it. Guess the stock plug wires are pretty good afterall.

What kind of work do you have to do to the ls6 block to handle big power in boost? Should you sleeve it?

I'd close up the gap to .030 first and see if that helps, sounds like an ignition problem to me. One of the truck coils (there are 2-3 styles) are hotter than the stock car coils.

I run truck coils and MSD truck wires and have zero ignition problems.

Just drop in some good pistons, rods and apr studs. The stock block and crank have held up to 8.20's at 170mph so they're good for a lot!

gap them down to as little as 20 to see if it clears it up. This typically occurs at 27+ psi.

I have seen TR6s as high as 40 or 50.

Also, youll definately need a colder plug as well.

I wouldn't call the earlier blocks a lot weaker. The main difference between the blocks is the way the windows are cut into the case at the bottom of the cylinders. It allows each cylinder to breath better, which is more efficient, which makes for more power.
