Default turbo setup MP T70

I am putting together a turbo kit for my car. Its going to be in the back like the STS kit. I have the fuel system for it and after the turbos in im getting the dyno tuning.Im new into turbo's so i would like to hear everyones input on my questions.
First off i was told that the Masterpower T70 is the perfect turbo for the ls1. Is that true? (keep in mind i have a cam set up for this also slp longtube headers)
then i was thinking about the bov. i havent seen them in any of the kits for my car. do i even need one? im only going to be running 8psi.

always a good idea for a street car to have a BOV and a wastegate too obviously.how were you planning on controlling the boost?

I purchased a 38mm wastegate for the turbo i was going to use. it lets off at 8.7psi....that was how i was planning on controlling my boost. now that you bring that up...will this wastegate work the MP T70? i didnt know if there are specific wastegate to each turbo...

i would have recommended a bigger wastegate but that should work,to answer your question there are basically 2 types of wastegates...integral or remote i take it your going remote(which is the more performance oriented 1) so you should be ok.

i would either recommend a BOV or a compressor bypass valve to help save your turbos lifespan

How would you hook either of those up? theres hoses into the intake correct? and what about the turbo? does the masterpower t70 sound like the right turbo to you? are they reliable? thanks for your help!!

is your car an auto?

a 38mm wastegate will work fine for what your doing, and if you have a 6spd a BOV is a must, if an auto id still get it but not totally essential

well that answered that....its a 6speed....whats the difference between the bov and the compressor bypass valve??? and how would you hook them up to the intake? my intake is stock and like i said the turbo is going to be sitting in the rear end of my car.

Well im not totally sure, the way I understand it is the Bypass valve has to go back into the intake tract, and can bleed pressure always, and was designed for superchargers.

just get a nice Tial BOV, the BOV will mount to the intercooler piping not the intake itself.
does that make any sence?

I wont be putting an intercooler on.... from what i heard since the air is traveling much further it is cooling down on its own...probably not completely but you get the picture...so what your calling the intercooler piping would be the piping that goes into my intake? i looked at a friends dsm and it had a hose that ran out of the intake manifold to the bov.......

what year DSM?
all the ones I have seen, had a metal flanged welded to the IC piping,

anyway, you can just have it mounted to the charge pipe if you are not going to run an intercooler

the dsm is a 95. the hose that runs to the intake is from the bov is a vacume line. the bov is mounted on the intercooler pipe...where would i get vacume from? is there a spot on my throttle body?

Still waiting on comments about the MasterPower T70 turbo?
