Default Best long block assembly for over 10lbs of boost

Guys,

I'm looking for opinions on what is the cheapest and best reliable bottom end and H/C combo for running a supercharger with 10-16lbs of boost. Let's here what you guys think. Also, i'm looking for aluminum since it's my z06 and I want to keep totally streetability and handling characteristics.

Stock crank, eagle rods and a set of JE pistons.

BTW, psi is not a measurement for HP. 10psi from a stock head motor and 10psi from a AFR headed car will equal two totally different power numbers.

I'm going for 600+hp.

Ok, so far we have
-eagle rods
-JE pistons
-stock crank

AFR 205's?

600crank or rwhp?

Ditto to what Jose said, and I would add ARP head studs.

If you can afford 205's you could keep them in mind.

I run:

~8.25:1 348 ci LS6 block
Diamond Pistons
Ported 6.0 heads
A1 head studs
236/246/114 Cam Motion cam
2.02/1.57 Manley SD valves, .100 longer than stock
1.7 Y/T rockers
Stock water pump
Comp 977 springs

Car made 754rwhp at 6600, in a stick that would be at like 6300 IMO.

get a sportsman block from speed inc-one of our sponsors
and a set of AFR 225's , a 224/230 or 230/236 cam and of that's about it.

A Vortech T trim with aftercooler or front mount should do it.

ATI's D1SC should do it too.

There's a guy on the Vette Forum that road races that has a heads/cam supercharger combo his name is jbblownc5 or something like that.

AL will take you as far as you want to go. You will probably lift the heads before the block ever goes.

Do you really need the steal crank if the rpm's and mechanical stresses are remaining the same? I'd be happy with the stock crank but that would depend on if they are known to fail. I haven't heard of crank failures but could have missed something? I have an engine on 7:1 c/r, 317's, sodiums and a tidy build. It's even got the stock rods in it and I don't expect it to break. With 15 psi plus I think heat will be the real enemy.

I think some of the 8 sec cars still use the stock crank, but I could be wrong.
