vortech owners inside please, coolant prob?

vortech owners inside please, coolant prob? hey, ok i checked my overflow coolant containter from vortech and it was empty, is that supposed to be like that? i believe the installer told me to make sure it has atleast half full of coolant in their? does the vortech share the coolant with the engine or is it seperate? could it have dried up during my storage period?6months? thanks for all guidance

It doesn't really matter how much coolant is in there, its just for overflow.
Yes, the Vortech kit shares coolant with the engine, well sort of. There's a little hose that connects the top reservior to the radiator, so if there's too much coolant going through the kit, it drains off into the radiator. I actually sealed mine off with a little clamp, because with a high output water pump like mine (the Vortech pump sucks), it will actually pump ALL the coolant back into the radiator if you let it. As long as you can see plenty of coolant in the top reservior (the one you pour water into), you should be fine.
