I would go with Phamspeed if you can live without AC. (Getting the fans to work with AC is going to be tough)

Otherwise I would go with the STS and heatwrap EVERYTHING

Yup, i know. If I would be purchasing a kit myself i too would have a hard time deciding. Luckily for me my car came with the turbo setup pre-installed so I didn't have to make that choice

The front mounted fans really will not work in the environment that he lives in (same as me). Our summer temps hit 115!!!!

I don't feel like he's bashing... Everything he's said is the truth. I've owned an STS kit and a Phamspeed manifold kit. The STS kit was a nightmare, nothing but problems... everything that could go wrong did, ended up spending an assload of $ that was completely unnecessary... Maybe got $300 out of parting out the STS kit and kept my turbo for the Phamspeed kit. Totally lost my *** on it. I'm currently running Phamspeed manifolds. The setup functions so much better then my STS kit did when it worked. I have bottomed out my Phamspeed kit before with my car lowered, I put the factory springs back in it and it hasn't come close since. My A/C is completely intact and operational with the current kit, I didn't have to sacrifice 1 single thing under the hood! I've noticed a gigantic increase in spool time... blah blah I could go on forever. The fact that I spent my hard earned money working with both kits is good enough to be able to voice my opinion. If you've got a rear mount and it works for you great! If thats your cup of tea, SIP IT UP! I'm just trying to say that it's unecessary. OH! and my favorite part, I spent LESS overall on my Phamspeed kit WITH a large intercooler then I did on my STS kit with the T70 upgrade... WITHOUT the OBX I had to buy seperate, that came dented like a bitch from UPS... nothing but problems.

Bottom line:

My STS kit gave me more problems then I felt like dealing with. GONE

Ground clearance on my Phamspeed manifolds could be better, although it's quality is superb and the price could not be beaten. Please keep in mind that I do not have the budget kit, which would not have to worry about this.

PTK's kit is a better kit. from my standpoint, and the fact that I've never owned one gives me less strength in my opinion, but from what I can tell they have they ducks in a row. It's $$$ though. That was my only problem. But that leads back to the old you get what you pay for thing!

God I wish I could go back in time... if only...

-Andy

And my STS gave me zero problems...as countless others. Sorry you got bad luck. My phamspeed wont have one clearance issue either. But he took a stab at even phamspeed now.

Andy hit the nail on the head. What most don't know is we supply parts to all the customers, whether they are using the STS to Phamspeed, to DIY'ers. So doesn't really make a difference to me what they buy, we will help make the kit they own (whatever its is) better and make you faster. I am just simply stating this, between the 2 kits mentioned, the Phamspeed is better hands down, plain and simple.

I will take a stab at my own kit..... (it costs more money). Their is no sense in crying over this stuff, we are all here just to have fun and go faster. Don't take it personal, I respect your findings and your #'s you made in the past, don't think otherwise.

I know dude, I started it out like that but I guess it ended up as my review... I know a lot of people are happy with it, but I never voice my opinion and I guess it just came out in that one post.

How close are you to putting down some numbers with your setup from John Evl?
