Default 98+ camaro front grill idea's for intercooler

i am installing a turbo kit on my 99 camaro and would like to see how some of you guys have done the front grill to let air to the intercooler. pics would be nice. i thought about cutting it all out and installing a finned billet grill but im not sure i like the look of that grill. let me see what youve done. thanks

this is what the intercooler will look like when installed.

i have to agreee with you. thanks a lot for posting that.

how flimsy is the front end with the bumper foam removed? anyone know? do i need to brace it in some way? or just dont even worry about it...

Oh...and where do i get the first and last grill shown? i understand that the last grill shown is just a stock ss grill...but i still need to know where to get it. thanks

The bumper should be fine. I am pretty sure that is not the stock ss grille. It is custom as far as I know. I have no idea where the grilles come from. I suppose you can search the sponsors, or pm them, or start a new thread asking for the manufacturer of that grille in the appearance section.

I know one of the x-sponsors (i think q.m.p.) had that same grille on their single turbo shop car.

Im personally going to do the same as the last picture.. already got the FMIC mounted, just need to cut up the bumper and SLP grill.

The last pic is perfection.

Bumper won't be fine at higher speeds. It will implode above 100 mph. Cut the factory foam to fit around the intercooler and put it in there.

I was actually wondering about that myself.. I heard some company makes a bar that bolts down and helps hold structural rigidy of the nose at high speeds. Anyone know more about that?

you'd be better off fabricating something instead of using foam...

Good then, I won't have to worry. Had a handful of people on here complain about their front bumper cover shake above 100, which is where I got the (mis) information from.
