ok so i got together $3,000, took some time and now i finally have a car that i wanna spend it on. what would be the best route to go, supercharger or a turbo setup, also i would not want to if not necessary to spend more money than what i have right now, so i guess work with what i got.
what would be the best way to go and what is all that i will need, im kinda leaning towards the turbo setup, and i just wanna know what exactly do i need, or if also someone has something for sale in this nature, im open to it.
btw, i have a 98 camaro m6.
thx

3k wont do it. ive got plenty more than that and stretching it thin. cheapest turbo kit out there is STS and thats in the range of 3k. Then you need a tune, at the least. You could probably get by at like 3 psi on a stock fuel system. Save your money and then get a kit.

Yeah 3k isn't enough. You really need to plan on spending more money then you think. You need a fuel system, clutch(6-speed),plugs/wires little stuff like that, and a tune. It adds up fast and doesn't stop.
I spent over 8k with the stuff I have and I still have stock rear, motor, suspension. Now alot of stuff i got I can do without but I wanted it. I say you spend atleast 6k for a basic setup start to finsh.

I would suggest sticking to your guns...to hell with NA HC etc, go FI, even if you have to go piece by piece. There is/was a Vortech w/ Aftercooler kit for sale $3200 complete, used in this forum and the sale section to IIRC. There are always smoking deals...hell we have ppl like NA$TY & PSJ on here that like (or can kinda afford) to change combos every few months so you can sit back and wait for one of them to try something new ![Happy](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)

Search for a thread titled forced induction cost. I asked these guys a similar question a while ago, and got a lot of good responses.
I chose to go heads/cam route for now, it fits my current budget better. However, I am in awe of you FI guys and your cars
One day I will join your ranks.

depending on what your power goals are, that will also help determine how much you will spend. from what ive been hearing, anything more then 550 rwhp your gonna want to start to forge the motor, or get an iron block with forged internals, like i said, depending on your goals. also depends on if you want to run ac or not and power steering. some of the kits use log style manifolds and people dont like that too much because it creates too much back pressure. it does allow for ac to be retained, but is difficult to upgrade unless you get a seperate kit for the future. i would have to agree, about 6k or more for a basic kit including fuel, injectors, plumbing, clamps, hoses, turbo, etc...
just keep your eyes open, always good deals in the for sale section.
