Default Would a 400ex spool a toyota ct12 turbo?

Wanting to put together a kit for my atv and i need the right turbo. I know of a yz450 atv running a ct12, and also of a 660 raptor running a T25, and a 400ex running an IHI RHB3. A ct12 would be easy to get ahold of, thats why I am wondering if it will work.

I doubt it. The YFZ 450 has 50cc more displacement and hella more air flow.
Maybe get the next smaller turbo and see what happens .
Sounds like a killer project though. If I ever get a Kawa-zuki-Cat 400 I'll check you out !

I take it that the RHB5 is the next larger turbo than the other 400EX you know of. That will probably work well. Might spool slightly slower than the smaller turbo on the other 400EX, but might also be a bigger kick in the pants at the same rpm if you have better cam and head that him .
TRY IT!

You might be pushing it w/ the old Supra turbo. Hell, try the 12 and if it doesn't work, cut the flange off and put the RHB3 on instead.

Once I get done sinking money into the TA, I want to do a turbo quad. I used to have a 500 Quadzilla that was absolute terror. A local 1/8 mile track had quad drags almost every weekend too.

t25 or t28 is your best bet. The t25 turbo spools rather quickly, and is small, yet flows way more than enough air for your 400ex. You could also get a 14b which will take longer to spool, but once it starts to come on, they come on very quick. My suggestion would be the t25, they are easily had, and readily available, also have oil and water cooling, so its a plus that way also.
