Procharger keeps pulling crank pulley loose!

Exclamation Procharger keeps pulling crank pulley loose!

Finally got the car running again and I took it out for about a mile and the supercharger pulled my damn crank bolt and pulley loose again! What can I do?

you'll have to get a crank pin kit from ATI, about $130

What exactly is that? Crank bolt? Pics? Will taht stop it for sure or will it just throw the belt! I'm getting frustrated and want to sell the whole thing!

I had to cut the bolt and use loctite. Do you have stock bolt or bolt that came with kit?

Dont give up. I feel the best way to correct belt problems are to go with the ATI superdampner and the 8 rib drive, and pin the balancer. It will be the end of the belt problems. I am runing the superdampner and 8 rib setup and pinned the crank. ( it is a matter of getting the kit which lets you drill a hole in a correct location, wether it is from the end or the side and install a pin which mates up with the keyway in the dampner or stock dampner from the end.) Preventing rotation of the dampner under load-boost. I have been runing 8-9 psi from day one with no belt problems whats so ever. Yes it is a bit more money but well worth not having to deal with belt problems. As for the kit there are some venderos that will rent them to you as well, vs buying.

If you are serious about the 8 rib and ATI superdamner give BOB @ EPP a call 260-483-9300 he can set you in the right direction. This is the next best step unless you want to spend the big bucks on the SDCE tensioner setup.

I had it loctited, also I believe it is the bolt that came with the kit. Thanks for the info, I'll call 2mara. Should I try pinning it before I do the 8-rib? Also can it be pinned while still on the car?

Cant tell you much about the bolt, but if it is to long it will shank out, and you will not tighten things up. As for pinning the crank if you are going to go with the stock pulley, you will have to pin it from the end. If you are planing on upgrading to the ATI superdampner you can still use the pin from the end but will have to redo it as well. The superdampner is best to be pined from the side. You can then remove it an install it like a regular crank pulley.
Loc-tite is a must.

Yes both ways can be pinned on the car

Can't you pin the blower crank pulley, because wont that hold the crank balencer as well?

So the bolt came lose and you tightened it back up right?????
if you did thatsthe worse thing you can do.....
Spend the $6.50 + the $20 shipping from ATI..... might as well buy some oil too so S&H dont rape you.... and red loctite a NEW bolt. Those are TQ to yeild bolts and once they are used and taken out or are lose they are done........
For what its worth my crank is keyed and not pinned and i didnt have a problem after the first time with a new bolt and red locktite. I was running the SDCE spring tensioned 8 rib setup also.

Heres what ya need.. sure some of its redundant but wth:

-ARP crank bolt
-ATI (not Procharger) Superdamper
-Pin the crank
-Blue Locktite, or Red if youre daring.

And to reiterate.. NEVER reuse a stock bolt. They stretch and cant be reused. Get the ARP bolt and thatll never be a problem again.
