Default 8.55 First Pass With Turbo Setup!!!

I just want to say thanks to everyone that came with us to the track and helped out at the clash of the titans this past weekend, couldnt have thrased to make the race without yall. We 60' footed the car a couple times on friday night, just so I could get a feel of the new setup. Saturday morning we decided to air it out the entire 1/4 to see what she would do on low boost(18psi). The car went a 5.40 in the 1/8 at 136mph with a 1.40 sixty and around the 1000 ft marker the car started to drift towards the center lane so I got out of it and coasted to a 8.55 @159mph. Right before first round we decided to go up on the trans brake to tune the car and the tranny let go so I didnt make the call. Hopefully I will have a new tranny in the car within a week or so and be back out haveing some more fun.

Yea Kyle we lifted the heads. We were trying a different type of head gasket and it didn't work out like we wanted so we went back with what we know works. No big deal just some of the little bugs we have to work out. There aren't many people making this kind of power with production parts. When we get it right we WILL reach our goal.

Man,
You guys are hauling, I need to just send you my car to build instead of buying engine internals from you.

Damn, amazing setup, wish I was in the market for something like that.
I need to trailor the car down there for a tune it seems.
thanks

Damn nice "shakedown first full attempt". I would guess you tried using the stock MLS gasket and are switching back to Cometics? After I read the initial post, I searched through looking for a refresh on the thread with pics....beautiful setup and times. BTW, did you finish mounting the BOV or is still inside?

I am also curious as to what kind of gasket you were using and what are you going back to. Also what was the cylinder wall thickness of the ls1 iron block you were using?

As there are no consistenties with the cylinder wall thickness on the iron block, why didnt you opt for a darton sleeve setup on a LS6 block? Also what was the head you were using and what was the chamber size and CR.

Just Curious.

Probably because they didn't want the aluminum block to distort under the kind of power they are planning on running. Running 8.55 first time out on low boost.....obviously there's more power coming.

All the Big Boys are going iron this year.
