Default MAF seeping oil?

Oil seeping out/around MAF? I presume it's inside the the intake tract from the pvc (find a little oil residue inside the intake pipes and tubing from time to time). Is mine seeping from the boost pressure? Can I fix it or should I care?

you don't have an oiled KN air filter do ya. Maybe excessive oiling. This will throw off your MAF readings as well.

I'd try a check valve in the PCV system to prevent boost from pressurizing the pcv system

If you have your valve cover vents attached to the suction side of the supercharger (like on the Procharger kit) then most likley you are pulling heavy oil vapor from your crankcase. This oil vapor impinges on sharp corners and objects in your intake path......like your MAF.

The oil getting sucking into the car isn't that big of a problem for the car. It may make the car run rough at times, and will make you car more prone to detonation, but what it will really do damage to is your supercharger. Any kind of droplets contacting your impeller at speed is like throwing gravel (itty bitty gravel) into your supercharger. The oil will eventually begin to pit and errode away the important leading edge of your impeller suction (supercharger inlet) eventually costing you power.

The best fix to keep oil out of the supercharger inlet is to install a catch-can inline from the valve cover vent line to the supercharger. Greddy makes a good catch can.

Yes, I'm using a K&N but am aware of the over oiling issues, plus the oil is not K&N red. It must be engine oil. I'll do a catchcan or something else to keep oil off the MAF.
But my question remains, "is it possible for the MAF to seep oil through it's body/plug area where it's sandwiched together". Has anyone else seen this? If so can I fix the leak or replace the MAF?

Thanks

The MAF is just a metal plastic sandwich, hardly able to seal against oil at any pressure. I expect that the oil impinging on your MAF, gathering there somewhat, and then under boost gets pushed out.

Guess I'll clean it good then use a catch can for the blowby.
I'm going for a tune on Tues. so I'm trying to clear up any loose ends that might cause problems.

Thanks again
