Default How many are using billet main caps?

I was curious to see how many people are using billet main caps, while running 15+lbs of boost.

Please include what cubic inches, amount of boost, and how much power you are making.

MTI's machinist (Daniel) told me that the wouldn't even worry about Billet main caps untill you were 850+rwhp said they had made that with the stockers and APR mains many times. Oh just for your little survey I am 346 ci with stock caps and I have made a best of 569 rwhp corrected it said 600 and some change uncorected.

Well, I am looking for at least 700 at the wheels. I have heard of people making more from close to the same setup I am going with, just curious to see if it is a necessity. I am hoping 800 is not too far off for me. I know it is considered isurance as well though.

I have one of those girdles and the main studs for it if anyone wants it I will make you a good deal brand new never installed. Seems like a nice piece, but it didn't get here in time for me to use it so I have just been haging on to it.

Yeah it uses a little longer (1/4" I think) ARP studs and the thing cost about $600 by the time you buy the girdle and the studs and pay for shipping. I will keep you in mind cause I have a buyer who has commited to buying it right now I had a few PM from people just mentioning it LOL! Hell I have had it for a while and never thought of selling it I thought I'd just use it on another project sometime. But I'll sell it and buy another one if I ever think I am in need. I'll let you know if it falls through. Thanks.
