Default .581 cam with STS Questions.

So hows a Comp XER 112 LSA 224/224 .581/.581 cam going to work with the standard model STS turbo with MAC type ORY? I am debating the 99 headers versus the 2K up manifolds not sure of gains with a turbo system switching to this.

Where would the powerband be with an 8.5-9 to 1 compression engine? And is this going to be a decent cam for this setup?

That LSA is a little tight for a F/I cam IMHO. You should look into a minimum of 114, preferably 116+ since your CR is low enough to run higher boost. The duration is decent, maybe a .230 with a slightly longer exhaust duration would work better. Not sure of your engine and vehicle but you will lose a bit of low end with the wider LSA and lower CR but hold on once the turbo kicks in!
Headers do not add as much on turbo applications, especially the rear mount models. A friend and I put the STS kits on and dynoed at the same time ( he LT headers, me stock ). The power difference was about 6 whp, unlike N/A where he had me by 30+ whp. I would use the money to ceramic coat the stock manifolds and Y-pipe, else a turbo upgrade.

it's a good cam, you'll have no problems. Zero overlap.

I am not sure what you are saying as that cam does have overlap just not at .050" but there IS overlap. I would also venture to say from experience that a turbo cam usually has a reverse split design like 230/224 @.050" and should be on a 116ish LSA. The less overlap the better for turbo applications. This being said the cam you have like ANY cam WILL work just not optimally.

346" I'm honestly not sure how much overlap is under .050, with the info provided all I could figure is the .050 overlap. Not sure how the under .050 numbers affect the overall scheme of things while on boost. Seems like the gases would not have enough time to change direction and re-enter the chamber filling with charge air.

Who makes an "off the shelf" cam made for stock cube with turbo and decent to fair idle? I like just a hint of a lope but no surging while cruising, M6.

You don't want a wide lsa. with a smaller lsa turbo will spool quicker and make more power up top which is what you want.
I do know from experience.
Speed inc sells a nice turbo cam.

225/225 @.50
273/273 adv. duration
.581/.581 lift
113LSA
overlap is -1
