383 Stroker - Cam & Injectors

Default 383 Stroker - Cam & Injectors

Ok, last questions I hope. I need to decide on injectors and a cam.

I am sure my SVO 42's are not going to be able to handle the 600 rwhp. So what should be able to support my goals? 50 or 60's? And what brand is easy to tune and idles well.

The cams I am looking are:

224/230 .588/.595 114

224/227 .563/.569 114

224/224 .588/.588 114

I would like a bit of a lope. But willing to go to a 115.
Still has to be smog legal.

Figure 600rwhp through a stick is 700fwhp. You should be safe with 60's running at around 75% duty cycle assuming a BSFC of 0.5.

Whoops is this a blower car? I just glanced and saw nitrous but it looks like you have a blower too. BSFC for blower cars is slightly higher but you should still be 'ok' with the 60's.

they're made by Venom pm me if you're intersted.ive got a couple pics of them,they come with a sheet that shows them flowed and pressure tested.

Those 60s should work great for you. I`m swaping out 50s for Motron 60s there supposed to be pretty good to tune. I`m expecting to make 650- 700rwhp with my 382 at 15lbs.

It will be the same LS6 block, Wiseco pistons,Lunati rods,same Ttrim. I now have the upgraded Callies crank(W2W), Comp 230/238 on 115, AFR 225s 72cc, FAST 90+tb, everything else has been refreshed or rebuilt, Stange 12bolt 3.42, BMR+ Spohn everything and a new 10pt cage .

Thats a new cam, the old one was Comp 234/240 112 which was ok for the street not a good lsa for a blower though.

I gots a ? about 50's and 60's, are they on the same scale as the 42 pounders i put in my car. What i mean is a 60 150% of a 42? I was told by LS1 speed that my 42's i got from them will be good to 550 FI. Yet you guys are sayin about using 60's for 600 horse. thanks

it all has to do with duty cycle.sure you can make 550rwhp with 42#ers but they'll almost be maxed out,where as if you use 60#ers you're not overworking the injectors.

Calculations show 55 PPH (at 43.5 psi test pressure) at 58 psi actual fuel pressure, BSFC at .6 and DC at 85%. That's for 700 CHP. See it here:
