exhaust temps

I just installed a percy's exhuast gas temp probe in the number 7 cylindar, at idle fully warmed up it's showing approx 1300 degress. What are other people seeing. the probe is really close to the head. The header are coated,single turbo, stock internals. Wide band is not reading real lean, what's going on.

holy crap. i can honestly say that is about the 2nd craziest set up ive ever seen. first being that 8-turbo ls1 thing.

1300 is a little high. Mine runs in the 1000-1100 deg range, this is at 13.5-14.0 AFR, but on an LT1 though that really shouldn't make much of a difference. Sound like it maybe a tad lean ,or not enough timing.

Is that 1300 at idle? if so something is WRONG. My diesel only runs about 300-400 degrees at idle, if I stand on it I can get it to about 1300 degree's.

Diesels and gas engines are no comparison, gas engines run much hotter.

1300 at idle isn't too far off, a little on the hot side yes. At cruise, it's quite exceptable. it's ~700 C.

What's the wideband say? and what's your spark advance doing?

it's wide open you're really interested in, keep it under 1650 (~900 C) under full power and you'll be fine.
