Best Forged piston for Forced Induction Looking for some insight on a good Forged Piston/Rings and Rod set up for forced induction. What seems to be the best way to go, not looking for a cheap way out but a strong and reliable setup.

I think the majority of people say to stay away from the gapless rings, at least that's what I've read. Definately double check that. Hell fire seems to be a name that pops up quite a bit.
I've also been reading a lot about quench and squish pads in combustion chambers and piston designs to help focus cylinder pressures to where they are most effective and also fight det. Do you're research there as well.
Also think about coatings. Pricey, yes, worth it, well, when you're putting big $$ into a FI build, it's probably worth some HP and insurance. Good luck. Great thread too.

I've purchased some Diamond Blower/Turbo pistons that I am going to have coated. Diamond's are made of the same Aluminum as the JE blower pistons at a lower price. I am also either going with Hellfire's or Plasma Moly rings.

Verdad Gallardo Here is some info on the types of aluminum that JE and Diamond uses that I found out while searching for my pistons.
I bought Diamond's D shaped Blower/turbo piston. They are a very good piston at a very good price. I did a lot of searching and found that most of the SRP pistons are made from 4032 aluminum which is a lower grade. If you check with JE, their pistons are made from 2618 aluminum which is a stronger, higher grade. Diamond's Blower piston is made of 2618 aluminum also and is a blower specific piston for the price of an SRP piston. Better materials, better price.....JMO!

I know this is LT1 stuff, but the material aspect still carries over to their other pistons (LS1). Basically as far as I am concerned, Diamond makes just as good of a Blower/Turbo piston as JE (with the same material, the SRP's use a weaker material) at a better price.

Id call Erik Koeig at HPE, he spec'd my motor together for me and did a great job, and he actually reccomended some cheaper parts, that were stronger than what I originally called up to order.
Id call him, mahle's are pretty good, however i dont think they make a large enough dish for your stroker motor to lower compression enough???

My Mahles/Callies rods just arrived today from Eric at HPE. I think they look pretty damn good.
I got them stock bore, with 16cc dish, which should place me around 8.5-8.7:1 CR, in readyness for as much boost as I can squeeze into it.
I'll know in about 3 weeks hopefully how they will all work out
