Default STS boost controller/ misc. questions

I just installed my boost controller on my STS and now it seems like it's taking longer to spool up and I'm actually producing less boost. (of course, I changed my O2 sensors and put in my o2 sims, so I'm bordering stoich and lean, tettering on lean, so I'm trying to not push it hard until I get my pcm sent out to nelson performance for them to tune it.) So... a few questions from this rant.

1.) What could be causing the lack of boost being produced?

2.) How dangerous is it to be bordering on lean if I don't run the car hard?

3.) Let's just say, ya know for sh*ts and giggles, that when my car was tuned for 11.0 - 11.3ish. I moved my rear o2 sensors up front and placed my o2 sims in the rear. Would that affect my programmed a/f ratio?

4.) At what point am I supposed to be enjoying this kit?!?

PS. However, I do like my new billet grille. flippin' sweet.

I can't comment on the boost controller issue, but I think "enjoyment" will come when you get your tuning issues taken care of (just looking at your sig). I had my STS kit, FMIC, injectors, pump, springs, gauges (including boost gauge) all installed by F-Body Central. They also tuned it in house, and I've been enjoying it ever since. There's been a bug or two, but nothing serious and the 490/450 on an otherwise stock LS1 more than makes up for it. They know their stuff.

Hope you get things fixed soon! The STS is a good kit when it's working right!

EDIT: I thought I had read a similar thread a while ago... I tracked it down, maybe you have a similar problem?

Maybe the boost controller is set to a low boost setting??? I'm just trying to think of something simple. As far as the lean condition, do you have any logging info, or a wideband to tell how lean you are running? If not, I wouldn't get on the car at all, at least until you can verify your A/F.

do you have a fmic?
if so you need to get the signal for the boost controller from up front after the IC, NOT off the turbo.

So, today I solved the problem w/ the boost, too much hose. It's still pulling really weak all the way through first but once I send it out to Nelson Performance that should be solved. (Crosses fingers) Afterwards, I took the car out and my car was just accelerating like no one's business, even on 5 lbs. Definitely enjoyed it. My car wasn't running lean, it was just a short somewhere in the wiring of the a/f gauge. So, thanks all you guys for taking your time out and reading/replying. Have a great one, and see ya on the streets.
