Default 50trim?

i'm selling my talon which currently is running a Garret t3/t4 50trim. i have both .60 and .48 housings. i'm wondering if i could run this turbo on a sts like system. or will it be too small? it would boost rather quickly since it is ball bearing. i have the tial external wg too. looking for a way to sell the talon for cheaper, but keep the turbo for later.

Most likely, it's to small, even out back. You really wouldn't be able run more than 4-5 psi and keep it from heating up the charge to much, no mater how much you intercool it. Sell it seperately if you can. Now, add a second one, and you might have an STS, Icon style stuff, but dump the .48 housing, wayyyyyyy to small. Though it'd make a great canidate for the bike

Being a former DSMer (very low 12 sec 2G) with the same turbo i will definately tell you it is too small. The T3/T4 50 trim is ideally suited to a 2 liter motor in terms of air flow and response. On a 5.7 liter motor it will basically be useless at anything above 5 psi and more of an exhaust restriction due to the small t3 exhaust side. The turbos in the STS kits are Garrett GT series and are similar in size to a T04 but much more efficient and modern in regards to wheels and center cartridges. Hope this helps.

that's what i thought. i'm just trying to find any way possible to dump this damn car, short of puttin it back to mostly stock. it was a fun car, but i'm tired of always being afraid of breaking something and driving a car that looks and sounds like a huge pos. plus my dad raced z28's and vettes back in his day and can lend a good bit of knowledge my way.
