What is your coolant temp?
John, are you having any problems with doing that and are you on a stock rad.? Those who have removed the t-stat, are you on an aftermarket radiator or a stocker?

Why? Is it the heat from the AC heat exchanger that warms up the radiator?
I can't imagine that the extra stress of the compressor is robbing so much energy and the engine warms up!
The system was properly designed from the factory with a t-stat, not without one.

I think I implied that when I said "granted in a race car." My point being that with the proper radiator, fan, ect setup, it'll probably work just fine. BTW, I did also mention the use of an UDP to slow the water pump down to where it would work

I think that pulling the t-stat is a band-aid solution to the problem that will ultimately hurt the reliability of the car. The t-stat is there to help the car get to operating temperature when cold...you lose this when you gut it. If there is a weak link in the cooling system then find the weak link and address the problem there. Just my .02 though
