Default building a car for the track. will barely see the steet

i am building a 408 iron block and im gonnna use it in my firebird 96 im looking to run mid 9's or faster if i can all good internals i was thnking of running twin turbos but will a single turbo run just as fast cause all the heavy hitters are running one big turbo instead of twin. Im not gonnna be competing in classes so i dont have to worry aobut restrictions. what should i do about going single or twin.

either or both make can make huge amounts of power to get you into the 9's or faster. I believe twin will be a little more expensive because you have to by two of everything and the piping(there alot more). good luck

most series only allow a single turbo, not until recently did they start to allow twins in some of the ford series. Pretty sure a twin car holds the current 10.5 ET record in the high 6's.

If you only want to run low 9's you could keep it a limited street car.

BTW- 427 LS1 has a very nice 4L80E for sale that could handle 1000hp and allow your car to be street driven on the highway.... PM him. He wants to sell it.

He also has a nice 370 built for boost with forged guts that could run 9's easily with appropriate mods. It would be difficult to have it built for less.

well gnx thanks im not gonna really run it on the highway or street matter of fact the only time im really gonna bring it out ot dexter labritory is when somebody got some money on the line. So i guess i will have a all out race car but with a street car look you know what i mean. its all about hustling out here. Right now theres a big thing going on with Chicago and some big time ballers from detroit. last month detroit got there *** kicked but this month at the street caos night at the track detroit won.

Its coming along, I got the crossover pipes finished, got the merge to the turbo finished (2 3" pipes into a T-6 Flange). Still waiting on my intercooler, precision ran out of cores, they just got them in yesterday so hopefully I will get it in about 1-2 weeks (weighs 64lbs without any water in it )

I got the heads ordered, Getting the cam cut right now. Started converting my 10 point cage to a 25.5 cage, so things are making progress, just not fast enough
