Anymore news pat, did you remove the fuel line to see if its priming....?

not yet. I just clean the garage cause it look like crap... After dinner I will check it out.

Dr.X I might take you up on that. I'll let you know.

Anyone know how I check to see if the pumps are toast?

Easy take the feedline off at the rails, if no fuel comes out when you turn the key on something is bad in the tank..fuel pump, fuel line, wiring....

Then pull the entire sender assembly out and prime the key again, see which pump makes noise, if both are shot, all will be quiet, if one is shot....well one will be quiet..doubt there is anything wrong with the pumps....
Check the fuel filter, maybe it collapsed internally and is clogging stuff up...
Don't know if any of this is correct but it gives you a good place to start trouble shooting.

Cleaning the garage, tired of working on the car huh

Well I took the fuel line off the the rails that goes into the FPR and cranked it. NOT A DROP OF GAS.... So right now I just cut a door way in the trunk to the pumps I will see whats up.

OK I had the wife turn on the car while I listen. The pumps make noise but they sound like a no fuel in them noise. Then I took off the feed line and no fuel came out and then had the wife turn the car on while I held a rag up the bulk head nothing but a couple drops. I guess the pumps are fried right?

prolly, take the sender out and see if your fuel line on the pumps failed...hopefully it did and not the fuel pumps.

How long did you try to start it when it died on the side of the road?

if its not 1 thing its another....but you DID have it running so just focus on getting around this small obsticle and you'll be good as new!

If they are making noise, then they might still be working. You probably have a crimp in the line or something. Probably need to drop the tank and look, though, or get your drummel out and cut a hole...

Jer---Alot, I didn't really figure out the gas thing till later. I got the pumps out the fuel line looks good on them.

ddnspider--funny you said that. I said to frcefed last night something about not caring about the car being f-up becasue I got to take it for a short ride. lol

White_Hawk-- well I have SS braided -8 line so it would be hard to crimp. But I disconnected the feed line right at the pump housing and turned the car on and still no fuel came out.

Should be. I have a rewire it that runs from teh alt to the relay and then to the pumps. They worked fine for the last week or so. Just died while I was driving on a very low tank...

It is very unlikely both pumps went out at the same time. It needs to be completely diagnosed.

Well just got back from vacation and my new pumps where here. So I slapped them in today and she FIRED right up. Slowhawk nailed it. I worked on connecting the down pipe to catback today. It ended up way to low to even drive but it sounds wicked... I hope tomorrow I can fix that up and get it back on the road. First trip is to the gas station
