I love it. That is exactly what I have been planning for my build. The parts, the placement, everything. Looks like very nice work. Please keep us posted on how things go from here.

Nice!!! big props to you for tackling this project. Is it me or is the PT-88 physically smaller than a GT42?....

The PT88 compressor side maybe smaller indeed. The exhaust side is what is big.

Got side by side pic of em
With the GT42 the exhaust side is 4.831 at the outlet if I remember right? How big is the outlet on the PT-88?? Or am I missing the point? PM me so I can stop hijacking smokins great post.

Would you just run a piece of pipe like the y-pipe to that side of the car I guess?
have you even looked at the pics or your car
ok the turbo is on the passenger side, so the downpipe routes on that side all the way to the back, on stock cars the Y goes to the passenger side, least the one i had did.
it will be 4" from the turbo and pass through a bullet muffler (nonrestriction type) then will travel back to the rear tire were it will dump, then i will have that conected to a vband flange for street duty when i want it quiet, it will taper to 3" route over the axle to a catback. all that extra exhaust can be disconnected easily from the vbands for race day or im in the mood for some more noise, getting rid of all that extra weight.

the PTE-88 uses a vband that is for a 4" pipe, so how ever big that flare is.
no problem with that info in my post

Its really not the outlet size, its the actual external size of the turbine housing that is a little different. The GT42 exhaust side though is pretty beefy. Also remember the PT88 will LAG compared to a GT42. If you were close enough I would let you drive it and see what it feels like.

Cool thanks for the info guys, just seeing if it would be "smaller" than the GT42 in the same location. I like how the PT88 doesn't have a huge inlet on the compressor housing.

Jose, I like how quickly this GT42 spools and how it drives on the street so that would probably keep me to sticking with it for now....too bad I'm not closer or I'd be heading down their right now
thanks again guys

Like I said, I was having a brain fart today. A bad one.

HOLY ****. That's all I have to say. Killer setup. Those are 6.0 truck mani's, right? Do both sides clear without needing to notch anything?

ya i only had pics of the cores in there. I have the end caps welded up, except for one seam, then i need to pressuer test it and check for leaks, then need to cut and weld the water caps. I have ALOT of time into that intercooler, cut it all out by hand with a jig saw, till towards the end when i found out its faster to cut it out with a chop saw.

i still have heat, and hope to keep AC. also didnt want anything blocking my plug access like a big downpipe, its alot easier to get to my plugs then it was stock, also going to relocate my coil packs like the stenoid crew did, thanks for the great idea!
high HP cars are a real maintance hog, so if i am constanly having to work on it, things need to be easy and fast to work on it.

dyna, hopefully your project wont take as long as mine, if you need some welding or help, sure i could use a little change to fund my crap.

also my smc alki/meth/water kit came last week, but ive been to busy with other stuff i havent even opened it up

How is plug access with the 6.0 manifolds? Sorry for asking so many questions, but I am in the process of deciding which route to take on my Z. So far, your setup is pretty damn close to what my intentions are.

plag access is better then stock, since they are forward facingthe rears, which are the hardest plugs are easier to get toits easier to change the plug from the top, or bottom.

after i get some dyno time or track time with it i thinking about ordering those truck shortie headers and comparring power levels, to seee if theres a notable increase from tubular to cast, and how much.
