What Car to Buy to BOOST?? I am new to the board here and this is my first post. Dont jump on me if its a dumb ? but what I am looking to do is BUY a new car to put the BOOST to. I am trying to decide between 2002-2004 Z06 or 2003 COBRA. I would like to make something close to 700RWHP. How much money needs to be spent on Each one of these cars to make that happen? I am thinking Turbo the Vette with a small shot of gas, and upgrade the SC on the Cobra with a big shot, but the Weight is going to come in to play? WHATS THE BETTER CAR?????????

Dont Corbras have IRS too?? Thought I saw a video of some guy with a Kenny Bell Cobra trash his?
Anyway if you go with the Z06 you are still going to have to upgrade stock internals to get to 700rwhp and probably lower the compression a bit not to mention upgrade almost everything so me personaly I would just get a regular vette and save some insurance money.

ya, the z06's only come with FRC's. you could get a regular vette, id say 01 or newer so you get the ls6 intake on it already, maybe get a forged short block for 3k or so, maybe another 10k-15k for a bomb *** turbo kit and be done with it.
Main advantage of the cobra is that it comes with forged internals, but the vette will always outhandle the cobra. Its just a matter of opinion.
I also was looking at a thread on ls2.com and there was a insurance comparison between the two.
the guys F body that he owned he was paying 209 for full coverage, z06 was 217, and the cobra was like 250 or something like that.
Just something else to consider...

HUMMM.....I was researching the Cobras a lil' over on SVTperformance and there are some of those on there for sale for around 30-35k that make 600+rwhp. Thats crazy. For the money it may be hard to NOT get one of those Cobras. You might as well figure on spending at least $35k on a Z06 then you have to buy a turbo then upgrade the internals. Thats a lot of Moo La compared to $35k in something that already has 600+. Tough Choice
