I see a lot of people getting a lot of power out of highly modded cars, but then I also see cars that have very little done to their cars still making a lot of power.

Now, this is just a question. But, besides having to upgrade the tranny and rear end, with FI, couldnt you just get a turbo or supercharger kit, forge the motor and lower the compression to about 9.0/1 and crank the boost way up, and attain about 800 rwhp? Maybe throwing heads in there =-)

Yes as long as your fuel system can handle it. Theres lots tuning to be done. Race gas would be your best bet or maybe a meth kit.

Its not just a matter of putting a that stuff on and you got 800hp. My guess is when you make that kinda power lots of stuff comes up that will brake and you will need to up grade..

Yes thats a possibility alot of cars could do, but then you'd have to worry about getting that power to the street. A 800 hp car thats spinning is slower than a 600hp car that hooks.

Yeah, i agree with both of you when it comes to something possibly breaking, and getting the power to the ground. What turbo is capable of about 800rwhp, or i guess 1000 hp total, and doesnt take all 6k rpms to spool up?????

Oh yeah, does phamspeed sell kits threw himself anymore other than ground zero?

no, he doesn't

It's all about tuning, if everything isn't working perfectly in unison it won't act properly. The parts could be there, but it could be lacking the adjustments needed to achieve the maximum horsepower. The higher the horsepower the more difficult it gets.

You make that sound like there's not much going on there, but just the engine and FI kit are significant investment in both money and effort, and as was already said you have to bring the fuel system up to par as well and then get it tuned.

Once that's done, you've still got to get the drivetrain, suspension, and tires to be able to use the power.

And all along the way, you'll be constantly tweaking everything and getting all the kinks ironed out of everything. There's also the fact that stuff always breaks. Always.
