Question Charger or Turbo?

i know there are many different kinds of each... but im just wondering what some of you experienced people that have turbos or superchargers think i should get. I have a 98 vette A4 (new tranny put in 10K miles ago). Thanks for the input everyone!

Check out the Corvette above. Installing an ATI ProCharger is typically much easier than installing a turbocharger, with very good results. Bob

On engines that have'nt been touched internally go with a supercharger.

Turbos have their advantages but I would take a supercharger over a turbo at what most people run for boost on a stock engine..

At higher boost levels on modified engines the drive belt systems need to get bigger as doest the thrust generated on the crank.. Then I would go to a properly size matched turbo due to the ability to maintain a higher boost pressure more efficiently.

With near stock cars the lower boost levels combined with easy of installation make me suggest the supercharger.

I drive one turbo car with high boost (in the 30's psi) its been gone thru from the pan to the throttle body and beyond...

man... that is nice.. i have looked at that same procharger.. a vortech supercharger... a magnuson.. and the guy that put the cam/heads in my car has a vette with a rear mount turbo he built himself.. i dont know anything about it, but he says he will put the same unit in mine for 6500$ any thoughts on that? also.. i like the sound of the turbo better.. and i dont want the car to be loud as hell at idle or when im cruising.. any ideas ?

Wait for the new twin kits to come out. Run them at low boost.... Two medium turbos cost about the same as two small ones.... Then build a forged bottom end for real fun...
