See the attachment (peak 448 rwhp, 543 rwtq, 90 degrees 100% humidity, 600ft),
What would folks recommend next?
Build a forged bottom end and
1) Modify the kit? (radius the log runners etc?)
2) Start over with a header style kit?
My tuner (not a sponsor so I don't think I can mention them) recommended against further boost. High torque numbers indicate near maximum reliable cylinder pressures given log style single manifold. Stock pistons ringlands would not likley survive much more than this.
I am told to go further reliably would require a forged bottom end, and a new header manifold turbo package. The stock motor pistons, and the restrictive log manifold are the colimiting factors.
For now it's enjoy as is, and save up for a new forged bottom end,
But whether to modify the existing kit, or start over with a header style kit, I'd appreciate your opinions.
Specs:
98 Camaro SS, 32,000 km. (5000 km on turbo Summer Street only, never been to the track)
Stock Motor (except 918 springs old stock springs had 65 lbs pressure!)
single log manifold kit T-63 (piping made by Stainless works for a Non Sponsor)
7psi on MBC
Borla exhaust QTP cutout no cats
Upgraded fuel pump and 42 lb injectors
SMC methanol progressive methanol (on @ 2psi, full flow @ 10 psi)
20 degrees timing
Moser 12 bolt 3.73
Spohn torque arm, relocation brackets and LCA
Spece 3 clutch
SLP SFC, STB, Eibach pro springs, Bilstein HDs, Energy bushings
AMW catch can.
Stock somewhat bald rear Eagle F1 tires.
