hmm i haven't had a problem with this yet, might be because i dont have a voltage guage either...but haven't noticed anything. when u cut the wire to the alternator are you sure u rewired it correctly?

My TTI kit was ok till I moved my battery to the back then it died. It had 50,000mi on it so I figured no big deal. When I replaced it I went with all new 2 ga. back with separate wires for Alt to Battery and power to the front. Everything seems good so far except that I threw a belt last week and have been working on that little problem with what limited time I have. I didnt rewire the Alt when the turbo went in I had the install done at a shop that did lots of tti kits so Im going to asume that its right. I do know that there is some kind of chip or something in the stock Alt so maybe it doesnt like sending juice so far? I think most of the Rear battery cars around here are track cars mostly, maybe some other guys will chime in?

I run the X kit along with Mototron 60 #'ers and my car was tuned with HP Tuners. I didn't tune the car so I can't help you there, but, I can say that the combo works.

Good Luck,

Mark

bringing this back from the dead. when im at idle this baby is just barely above the red part on the stock volt meter. when im driving it is obviously better, but im starting to get worried about it. when it was in the stock location i didn't remember it ever dropping that low.

A word to the wise, make sure that you get a genuine GM altenator for your car. I had mine **** the bed after 70k miles and i replaced it with what i thought was a genuine GM part. Turned out it was the genuine case BUT rebuilt by a place that aint so genuine. It took me 3 altenators till teh place i got them from said OK lets stop with teh crappy alts and get ya a GM one.... I bout punched him in the face. Havent had a issue wince then. It appears the crappy ones cant handle the draw that comes from teh different fuel pump and the fans that are runnin most of the time. I think I've heard that if you replace the red wire (the one we had to add an extension to) to a larger guage wire it solves the problem. I'm away at school and haven't had a chance to try this out yet. Anyone else heard about this?

Ah sweet! What length did you need to get all the way from the alternator to wherever it ends up (i forgot where it goes to) and what guage did you use?
